On January 14, 2026, BPDO celebrated its 25th anniversary with an annual symposium that underscored the vital role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ethiopia’s national development. Theme: “Today’s Diligence for Tomorrow’s Results”
The event brought together distinguished guests, including former President His Excellency Dr. Mulatu Teshome and State Minister of Ministry of Health His Excellency Dr. Dereje Duguma, Her Excellency Zahra Hummed Ali Deputy Speaker of the House of Federation, Her Excellency Fantu Tesfaye, spokesperson of Amhara Regional State, alongside leaders from the Civil Society Organizations Authority, Regional stakeholders, Donors, CSO Leaders, Community Representatives and BPDO’s board of directors.
Celebrating a Quarter-Century impactful Humanitarian Journey
Founded in Kombolcha, Beza Posterity was honored for its far-reaching contributions in:

- Health: Fighting HIV/AIDS, TB and promoting community health.
- Economic Empowerment &Youth Development: Empowering young people through education and opportunity.
- Social Protection: Preventing harmful traditional practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
- Climate Change Action: Advancing environmental protection through reforestation, awareness campaigns, and sustainable practices that safeguard Ethiopia’s future.
- Emergency Response: Provided emergency assistance (food items and cloth) to 355 IDPs
- Volunteerism: has supported over 20,000 people across Ethiopia, investing more than 40 million ETB in humanitarian and social initiatives through staff contributions
In recognition of shared success, BPDO also presented awards to its partners and donors whose steadfast support has been instrumental in sustaining programs and expanding impact over the past 25 years.
CSOs: Partners in Ethiopia’s Future
- Government officials highlighted that CSOs are indispensable partners in bridging development gaps and advancing Ethiopia’s Vision 2030 for Prosperity. Speakers emphasized the importance of:
- Sustaining collaboration between government and civic organizations.
- Creating a supportive environment for indigenous CSOs.
- Promoting home-grown solutions and sustainable environmental protection.
