Integrated and holistic response to violence against Women and Girls
Implementation sites: Telalak & Dewy Woredas of Afar region
The project aims to reduce gender-based violence through promotion of GBV prevention as human rights. Project objectives are:
- Heighten awareness’s of target community towards violence against women and girls
- Activate local institutions and community leaders (clan/Iddir leaders, religious leader, women right organization)
- Enhanced the engagement of governmental organization & other stakeholders including women right organization on the enforcement of the existing GBV laws, legal and policy reforms;
- Establish / strengthen/ networking, collaboration and partnership among different actors to effectively deliver integrated services for survivors of violence.
Currently a total of 55 government partners, school and locally accepted structure leaders has taken trainings on prevention systems.
